Al, who has been in the money management business for over forty years, started BEA Associates, Inc. in 1968 and oversaw its growth from $60 million under management to $28 billion by 1995.
His strategic calls at BEA, which include beginning to invest in selective emerging markets in the 1960’s, active management of fixed income securities in the early 1970’s, and inclusion of private placements in portfolios in the late 1980’s, serve as the basis for allocation calls today at ZCG.
Al holds a B.S. in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
He sits on the Board of Directors of Mekong Leisure Ltd.
He also sits on the board of Asphalt Green, Inc., a non-profit corporation in New York City.
